Keller Grover was co-counsel in nationwide class action on behalf of uninsured patients against Tenet Healthcare Corporation alleging that Tenet charged uninsured patients excessive prices at well over 100 hospitals owned and operated by Tenet in multiple states. The suit claimed that Tenet took advantage of the uninsured and the working poor who did not have the ability to negotiate lower rates because they were uninsured, while at the same time Tenet was giving large discounts to HMO’s and other large payers for the same services. This class action included thousands of class members. This case settled for approximately $20 million in 2006.
